Body Composition Testing
“Body Composition” is used to describe the different components that, when taken together, make up a person's body weight. The human body is composed of a variety of different tissue types including lean tissues (muscle, bone, and organs) that are metabolically active, and fat (adipose) tissue that is not.
Body Weight Measurements
Standard body weight scales provide a measure of total weight, but don't determine the lean-to-fat ratio of that weight. Standing on most scales can tell you only if you weigh more than the average person, but not if that weight is fat or muscle.
By using a BODYSTAT (a bio-impedance analyser) we can measure the impedance value of the whole body. This is done by passing a safe battery generated signal through the body measuring the impedance at a frequency of 50 kHz. Once the test is performed a complete Body Composition analysis is given.
The BODYSTAT is non-invasive, and is highly recognized as one of the most established bio-impedance body composition analysers in the market.
The BODYSTAT measures/calculates...
BODY FAT % & FAT WEIGHT
LEAN MASS% & BODY LEAN MASS
TOTAL WEIGHT
BODY WATER % & BODY WATER
BASAL METABOLIC RATE
BMR BODY WEIGHT
AVERAGE DAILY CALORIE REQUIREMENT
BODY MASS INDEX
IMPEDANCE VALUES AT 50kHz
The total time required to complete a body stat composition test is approximately 10 minutes. I am able to offer Body Composition tests at all exercise classes. However please book test in advance prior to class.
THE BODY COMPOSITION TEST COST IS:
Non class participants £10.00
Class participants £5.00
